Pat needs our help identifying her blooming unknown [...] Happy Mother’s Day Pearl Farmer’s Market, May 09, [...] We had our first club garden tour today by the 3 Oaks TEEA (Texas Extension Education Association). About 20 members strolled through the gardens with JoNelle. Since this has been a late season so far, there weren’t that many blooms on the daylilies, but a few specialty ones, Forbidden Fantasy, Fiery Temper, and Francois Verhaert [...] Pearl Farmer’s Market, May 2, 2009 Plant listing Potted: Winsome Lady, Strawberry Candy, Bitsy, Chorus Line, Royal Palace Prince Mulberry Connection – specialty photo of Ray’s daylily Wispy [...] identifying the snake I heard and then saw this morning while I was weeding! Yes as I was bent over in one of my daylily fields this morning getting rid of some weeds, I heard a rattle. I looked over and sure enough there was a rattlesnake curled up under one of the [...] Deer seem to have taken a vacation from my yard, so for now the daylilies are safe . . They have been allowed to grow and to have scapes and I’ve had some blooms. I don’t know if rains have greened up the deer’s regular grazing areas or if the Bobbex helped to keep them away.
