First blooms

I worked a little outside today, planting new bulbs and plants. While in the garden I noticed that my Muscari Armenicum (grape hyacinth) was blooming, as were some of my Texas Bluebonnets (the maroon ones called Alamo fire), and some of my freesias are about to pop. So tomorrow, the camera comes out with me to get some photos. My dormant daylilies are sprouting up through the ground. Ones that I had thought I had lost are now showing green (yippee). I will start fertilizing them with both my Osmocote 19-5-9 and my Hasta Gro. I also have several bearded iris that are beginning to bloom. This is the time of year that always keeps me moving. Seeing the flowers bud and then bloom, and the dormants emerge always rejuvenates me. Now I just have to get to all the weeds, although there are some I leave because I like them (henbit, wild verbena, and Mexican primrose). Well time to get thinking about all the things I need to do this week.
